Homemade Cranberry Sauce

1 - 12 ounce bag of fresh or frozen cranberries
1 - cup sugar
1 - cup water
1/2 grated orange rind (optional)

In a saucepan, mix water and sugar and heat on medium heat until sugar is dissolved. Add cranberries and bring to a low boil. If using Orange rind add it now. Stir frequently and reduce heat to keep the sauce at a low boil for about 10 minutes. When the sauce begins to thicken and the cranberries begin to burst remove from heat. The sauce will thicken as it cools.

*Let cool and serve or add to sterilized jars and can properly in a hot water bath. 5-10 minutes for half pint jars.
