6 - large apples (2 - 1/2 lbs)
peeled, cored & sliced thinly
1/4 cup water
juice from 1 lemon
2 - cups rolled oats
2 - cups all purpose flour
2 - cups packed brown sugar
2 - tablespoons cinnamon
1 1/4 cups melted butter (2 1/2 sticks)
Large Iron Skillet
Preheat ove to 350 degrees. combine the apples, water, and lemon juice in a large iron skillet. In a bowl, combine the oats, flour, sugar, and cinnamon. pour in the butter and stir to make a crumbly mixture. Spread the topping in an even layer over the apples and bake for 45 - 55 minutes, or until the topping is crisp and brown. It may take longer than 55 min so watch it closely.

This recipe is soooo good. I have made it numerous times. Just don't over-bake it!!
I tried it last night and my kids loved it. We never had apple crisp before for a dessert because I don't cook much but a friend told me to try google apple crisp cause it's just easy to prepare and she's right. Thanks for sharing.
